Most kind of teleprompters use beam splitter glass to implement the function of the prompting.

President teleprompter use a monitor to play the speech draft. Above the monitor, there is a supporting bar holding a piece of beam splitter glass. Adjust the height of the glass, so that the speaker can see exactly what is reflected on the monitor.

One important thing: to make sure the contents on the monitor is mirrored, you can use a software, or use a monitor with self-reversing function directly.
